Program

The China Atomic Energy Scholarship (AES) Program, initiated by the China Atomic Energy Authority and the Ministry of Education, provides full scholarships to students from developing countries from 2023 to 2027 for Master's and Doctoral degrees in nuclear energy-related fields in China, fostering professionals for sustainable development and sharing nuclear science and technology expertise worldwide.

II. Program Format

1. Enrollment Category: Ph.D. students

2. Teaching Language: English

3. Duration: 4 years. The duration of the Chinese Government Atomic Energy Scholarship is determined at the time of admission as the length of study and generally cannot be extended.

4. Scholarship Coverage: The same as the Chinese Government Scholarship (Full scholarship).

III. Applicants requirements

1. Citizens of countries other than the PRC who are committed to the nuclear industry for the benefit of the society and in good health;

2. Holders of a Master’s degree in such majors as nuclear engineering, nuclear technology applications, mechanics, energy, chemical engineering and physics with strong capability of scientific research;

3. Proficiency in English (spoken, written & reading), with valid certificate of language proficiency;

4. Education and age limit: Holders of a Master’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 40 when applying for a doctoral program;

5. Those with work experience in nuclear or related fields will be given priority consideration.

IV. Application Process

All the applicants need to fill in and submit information via (1) the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn), fill in and submit, and download the application form.(2) the online application through the International Student Service System of Peking University and submit the application materials via email with the subject “The Atomic Energy Scholarship Program of China” before May 15, 2024 (Beijing time).

Note: The institution code of Peking University is 10001, and the type of application program is category B.
